Agates have been a favorite stone of mine since before I can remember, so the mini-agate-slab earrings I make have a special place in my heart. These are sterling silver and bright orange and white banded Malawi agate slices mounted on a solid sterling silver back with claws holding it in place.
The stones are semi-translucent, so the front of the silver plate is polished to a mirror finish for a sparkly effect in the sun or candlelight.
These earrings are also directional, meaning they have a left and right. Made so the stones face forward when worn.
Malawi agates are known as the candy agates of the mineral world because of the huge array of juicy colors they are found in.
